Occupational Physician Registrar
Dr Yash Gupta is an Occupational Physician Registrar with a strong background in medicine, physiology, and occupational health.
He completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2012, majoring in pharmacology and physiology, before earning his Doctor of Medicine at UWA in 2017. After completing his medical internship at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Dr Gupta gained experience across a wide range of specialties, including emergency medicine, orthopaedics, neurology, cardiothoracic surgery, respiratory medicine, and psychiatry. Initially accepted into the General Practice training program, he later discovered his passion for Occupational Medicine, where he now applies his expertise to promote safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces.
Dr Gupta’s current practice involves the assessment and management of health issues related to work, including pre-employment and periodic medicals, injury management, fitness-for-work assessments, and health surveillance. His experience spans multiple sectors, including oil and gas, mining, rail, construction, logistics, transport, and professional sport, providing him with a deep understanding of the complex health demands within high-risk industries.
He is an accredited Rail Industry Safety Standards Board (RISSB) Authorised Health Professional (AHP), an OEUK-accredited medical practitioner, and a Medical Review Officer (MRO). Dr Gupta is also actively involved in the sporting community as a ringside physician for the Combat Sports Commission, reflecting his ongoing commitment to applied medical practice and performance safety.
