Assessment

OSHGroup offers a range of specialised medical assessments designed to ensure workplace safety and employee health.

Spirometry

This assessment measures both the amount and speed of air a person can inhale and exhale, critical for identifying respiratory conditions that may impair an employee’s ability to safely perform their job duties. Spirometry is essential for roles in environments that may affect lung health.

Audiometry

Regular hearing tests are crucial, particularly in industries where noise-induced hearing loss is a risk. Our audiometric testing procedures ensure that your workplace complies with safety regulations and helps in protecting the hearing health of your employees.

Drug & Alcohol Screening

We conduct thorough screenings to maintain a drug-free workplace. Our testing protocols adhere to the AS/NZS 4308:2008 standards, providing dependable results that support your company’s health and safety initiatives.

Each candidate undergoes a detailed health examination reviewed by a qualified Occupational Physicians and Occupational Physician Registrars.

This comprehensive assessment determines the overall health and fitness of an employee for their specific role, ensuring they are capable of meeting job demands safely.

Musculoskeletal Fitness Assessment

These assessments are crucial for evaluating the strength, flexibility, and endurance of potential employees, especially in roles that are physically demanding. Ensuring that employees are physically capable of handling their tasks reduces the risk of work-related injuries.

Respiratory Fit Testing

This testing ensures that personal protective equipment fits properly and effectively protects employees from airborne hazards. Proper fit is vital for maintaining respiratory health in environments with potential air quality concerns, safeguarding against respiratory conditions.

Periodic Assessment

At regular intervals, an employee’s health is thoroughly examined by a qualified Occupational Physicians and Occupational Physician Registrars, to ensure overall health and fitness, identify any risks, and maintain optimal safety for staff and workplace wellbeing.

Driving Safer, Smarter Workforce Decisions

Early identification of health risks is essential, not only for keeping employees safe and well but also for minimising injury-related costs and maintaining lower insurance premiums.

Whether screening new hires or evaluating staff returning post-injury, our assessments ensure individuals are medically and functionally capable of meeting the inherent demands of their role. Every report we deliver helps protect your people, reputation, and bottom line.

Evidence-Based Results

OSHGroup’s Pre-Employment Medical (PEM) framework combines clinical excellence with strategic occupational health risk management.

We’ve demonstrated the impact of tailored screening in real-world environments. In a pilot program launched in September 2012:

  • Tailored functional assessments led to a 28% reduction in workplace injuries
  • In contrast, generic assessments showed just a 4% reduction

The result?
Fewer injuries, reduced workers’ compensation claims, and improved Lost Time Injury (LTI) performance, proving that targeted assessment strategies drive measurable outcomes.
